Welcome
The future direction of the BRIA is to continue as leaders in the use of computing technologies in patient-orientated research that is carried out in academic medical centers. We intend to increase our knowledge base both technically and theoretically in two overlapping areas: informatics and bioninformatics.
Areas of informatics we will develop include web-based technologies, innovative methods of data capture and data management, advances in networking, operating systems and security. The application of areas of bioninformatics to clinical research is beginning to be explored by BRIA. In order to accomplish our goals, we will provide training, presentations, demonstrations and interactive sessions in these areas at the GCRC conference and the Bioninformatics conference.
In addition, during the year we will work together through our committees and interactions on our listserver to further our mission.
