The mission of the National Association of GCRC Nurse Managers is to provide a cooperative communication network between the National Institutes of Health Division of Research Resources, the GCRC Nurse Managers, and professional GCRC nursing staff.
The mission of the National Institutes of Health General Clinical Research Center Program is to provide resources for clinical research. The specific goals and philosophy of each GCRC will vary in accordance with current protocols and institutional standards.
Incorporating the unique aspect of each GCRC and previously stated mission, the professional nursing staff facilitates interdisciplinary clinical investigation and the provision of holistic nursing care. Nursing practice is guided by scientific knowledge, standards of care and a code of ethics. Utilization of the nursing process is an integral component of quality clinical research
